New for this season is the arrival of James and the Red Balloon, where children fly up, up and away in their very own balloon.

In a first ever for a UK theme park, Drayton Manor has teamed up with The National Autistic Society (NAS) providing ‘train’ing for all Thomas Land staff to develop their understanding of the needs of those on the autism spectrum and ensuring all visitors have a fantastic time this summer.

It’s home to over 750 residents, big and small, such as its pair of Sumatran tigers, Dua and Dora, and the smaller members of the family, twin baby Cotton-Top Tamarins, Kit and Leo.

For the more daring members of the family, the popular attraction boasts some of the biggest rides around, including the 54m drop tower, Apocalypse, and Europe’s first stand up coaster, Shockwave.

About Drayton Manor

Drayton Manor Park Ltd opened to the public in 1950 by the Bryan family, is one of the UK’s most popular family attractions with over one million visitors a year. George and Vera Bryan OBE converted 80 acres of derelict land, which once belonged to Sir Robert Peel; MP & PM to Queen Victoria and her family, into today’s wonderful multi award-winning family attraction, combining thrill rides with a conservation zoo plus catering and conference facilities.

Today, Drayton Manor Park, still family owned and run by second and third generation family members, covers 286 acres of beautiful woodland and countryside and features some of the wildest and scariest rides around. Rides include Rollercoasters – Shockwave, Accelerator and G-force.  Major rides: Maelstrom, Apocalypse and Storm Force 10, our wettest ride. It is home to the hugely popular Thomas Land™ featuring many named Thomas & Friends™ character rides for the children and adults alike. Thomas Land™ at Drayton Manor is the only one of its kind in Europe.  The park’s 152 seater 4D Cinema, over 50 rides and attractions make for a truly unforgettable day.

A four-star Hotel on site featuring 150 rooms includes Thomas & Friends™ themed rooms all sleeping four to six guests, family rooms, executive rooms and presidential rooms. It also features two bars, two sublime restaurants and a relaxing lounge.  Within Drayton Manor Park and Hotel there are three large conference rooms for functions and exhibitions as well as an idyllic wedding facility for up to 400 guests.

The Drayton Manor Park Foundation was originally created by the Park’s founders, George and Vera Bryan OBE in support of national and local community charities.  This season the park has committed to raising up to £50,000 for its ten designated charity partners Kids Out, Midlands Air Ambulance, JDRF,  St Giles Hospice, National Autistic Society, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Tamworth RNLI and Tamworth Rotary.  To this end, each charity is invited to host ‘a day on the park’ and the Drayton Manor Park, Zoo and Hotel staff are planning a series of fundraising activities in support.
