A few weeks ago my lovely brother-in-law phoned to ask if he could borrow my camera for a few days in January. I asked if that meant he was coming to visit as, as he lives in Spain he obviously couldn’t just pop round to pick it up.
This is when he told me that he was using England as a stop off between Spain and Iceland. He has booked a holiday to tour the fiords, go whale watching and hopefully if the conditions are right see the northern lights.
Images of the aurora australis and aurora borealis from around the world, including those with rarer red and blue lights
Now at this point I must admit that I’m very jealous of this trip my brother-in-law has booked has it has been a lifelong dream of mine to do something like this.
I have always thought that a trip like this would be well outside of our affordable price range, and that it would be too much travelling especially with the tiny 3 in tow. I thought that it would be something to possibly save to do in our old age when the kids are all grown up.
Then I discovered you can cruise from Southampton on a find the northern lights tour. So although it’s still a little out of our price range at the moment, and the tiny 3 are still too tiny the travelling is not as much a problem as I thought, so perhaps that dream trip is not that far away.
Now I’ve told you my dream holiday, why not comment below with yours!
