On Sunday I took the kids the short walk to my parents house. This journey takes us on a very lovely scenic walk from our estate along the canal right to my parents house. Usually when we do this walk I rush JR along to get from ours quickly. Sunday was very different I put JR in his wellies and we had a very nice steady walk stopping to smell the various flowers, look at the trees and look for insects. On the way along the canal we walked past 3 anglers both JR and TP were very interested in what they were doing and we stood watching for 5 minutes waiting for a fish ( it never came). TP was also interested in all the barges moored up along the canal side. We came upon a gable of Canadian geese JR stopped and was very interested in them and wanted to stoke them I had to explain that you can’t stroke wild animals and he was okay will that, as long as he could puddle jump when we saw some puddles. I blame peppa pig for this desire but I can understand how it can be fun for the kids. He really enjoyed jumping in the puddles and I really enjoyed watching him. Just before we turned off the canal path JR wanted his photo taken with the place sign and also decided to throw a stick in the canal to see if it floated. I am so glad that I decided to make this walk a steady one and I’m going to try to make canal walks a regular thing after seeing how much joy it brought to JR, and TP. Hopefully as she gets bigger LA will learn to love them too.
This is such a lovely post! I have to say i am the queen of rush and there must be so many magical moments i have missed in my hast!
I have your back where Peppa is concerned as i know your correct with it being Peppas fault every time its on and there is puddle jumping i groan!
thanks for linking up with #magicmoments x
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that about peppa pig, I thought I was just being a grumpy mummy lol
What a great adventure this sounds like – the photos are really lovely and show what a great time the boys had 🙂 x
We do have some great adventures I feel very lucky to live by such a lovely area of conservation
Looks like you had a fabulous time. It’s so easy not to take your time and appreciate the small things.
It really isn’t easy to stop and take in the beauty and I’m ashamed to say I haven’t really done it much since because the area is not easy to get the pushchair around when it’s wet
lovely photos xx
Thank you they were all taken on my iPhone
What an adventure,I love Canals! Bumble Hole is ringing a bell,I think perhaps we may have been there on our Barge when we were kids. Lovely photo’s
It’s near to Birmingham along the Dudley number 2 canal
