This last week we have Mr M&TTT’s parents visiting from Benidorm. They usually visit either later in the year or earlier in the year, whichever they choose it’s usually the winter, cold and more often than not it snows.
As we have been having exceptionally good weather and they don’t get the chance very often we decided that as the Smith unit of our Knowles-smith family we would head off for a day at the beach, and Weston-Super-Mare is our closet that’s where we headed.
We loaded the boys into the in-laws rental car and for the first time in 12 months I was able to sit in the front seat of our car with LA in the back.
When arrived we had a pleasant surprise BBC’s One Show road show was there hosting a free family event. So we headed over to see what was going on unsure of whether the tiny 3 would be old enough or not to take part in the various activities.
JR was interested in the communications and even had a go at sending a Morse code message
Jr and Tp then dressed in Victorian boys beachwear
We then took a walk along the promenade the boys walked with Grandpappie, and were met by a giant shark!
After a while as is obligatory when at the seaside we stopped for fish & chips and TP got acquainted with the locals (yes he fed his entire dinner to the seagulls)
After a walk along the pier watching the seagulls and letting the boys play in the penny arcades we made it to the beach, and we even saw the sea, which if you know Weston-Super-Mare at all its a rarity, the tide goes out so far!
LA even put her feet on sand for the very 1st time!
The day was finished off nicely with a lovely photo of nanny and grandpappie, We all had an absolutely fantastic day by the sea, and the boys are still talking about it now. Even though they’re obviously missing their nanny & grandpappie now they’ve gone home its memories they’ll keep with them forever.
I’m linking this post with the wonderful Fiona from Coombe Mill click the badge and check out the fun everyone else has been having this week!
