Over the May Day bank holiday, me and the family headed up north to Manchester for the weekend, which would include me going to a blog conference Blog on at the Manchester Museum of science and industry on the Sunday. I’ll be blogging Saturdays events soon.
The Conference itself (Which I shall go into in more detail in its own post) was split into 3 sessions, Social Media, creative writing and Photography. The session I was most looking forward to was Photography, as I really wanted some tips on how I could use my camera on manual mode. I spoke to John Arnold from photo walk through for around 20 minutes, and also the lovely The boy and me for around 10 minutes, those 30 minutes gave me the confidence to try to take a few photos using the manual settings on my camera.
So on the Monday afternoon I took the boys for a walk along the canal and nature reserve area looking for a geocache and to just burn off some of their excess energy whilst LA had a nap at my parents house.
Well here are the results, what do you think?
My first few shots!
10 minutes later
I am really pleased with the progress that I’ve made, i even tried a couple of dandelion clock macro shots.
I cant wait to get out again and continue my journey of photographic discovery.
I’m so scared to put my camera into manual mode, I really must book a course
You’ve inspired me to get out our camera manual and read up on this some more thanks!
Well done! I am also too scared to put my camera into manual!
I found the photography session really inspiring, just need a decent camera now. Have fun experimenting!
Well done you. Ever since I started blogging I’m learning each day how to better my photography. I would love to go to a lesson to see what I can learn x
Good work, glad I was able to help. Keep playing and learning.
I love those dandelion shots, the second one is stunning. well done
The dandilion shots are great! I’ve recently got more interested in photography and love trying new things x
Well done on getting to grips with manual. I used to know how to use my old SLR years before digital and now I’ve forgotten, just pointing and shooting in fully automatic mode. I must try harder!
