Coombe Mill Holiday: A trip to Land’s End

We’d discussed before our holiday different places we’d like to visit and things we’d like to see, 1st on our list was definitely the Eden project and we pre-booked our tickets for the Thursday. 2nd on the list was Land’s End, I’d been there as a child and had my photo taken at the signpost and also at the first and last house. Now I had my own family I wanted to take our photos at both these iconic spots.

We planned the route and discovered it would take almost 2 hours to get there so we decided it would be best to set off very early as the attractions opened at 10am and we wanted to get there for opening to get the most out of our day.
One thing that we forgot to check was whether or not the storms had caused any damage to the attractions, there had been and only 3 attractions were open – Land’s End to John o’Groats the journey, 20,000 leagues under the sea, and The search for Arthur. There was also a playground and also the fantastic cliff area to investigate.
The 1st thing we decided to do was go into the Land’s End to John O’Groats exhibition.

When we told the boys these stones came from the top and bottom of the country they were amazed.
We then headed straight to the 4D cinema to watch 20,000 leagues under the sea, it was a film about caring for the environment and looking after our seas.

The kids looked really cute in their 3D glasses
After watching the film we went for a walk around the coastal path and see the iconic signpost. The views were absolutely amazing!

The boys loved being able to run around and explore the area

Then we discovered the children’s play area which again the boys loved whilst LA napped

We then headed off into the Arthur’s Quest adventure which was a bit like a fun house experience. It was very dark and very loud and although LA loved it the whole way round the boys really weren’t very impressed at all.

20140318-112510.jpg in fact they were petrified, but once you were in it was one way round so they had to continue through but it’s not an experience we’ll visit again I don’t think.
We then made our way back to the car for a picnic before making our way back to coombe mill via Penzance, and Falmouth whilst the kids slept in the back of the car we enjoyed the scenery.
