Just lately the weather has taken a bit of a turn for the worst, but whilst that doesn’t usually stop us having fun like everyone else we really do prefer being dry.
Today after a morning of waiting for a storm that never appeared, but kept threatening to arrive, we decided to put the kids and their bikes in the car and head to Stourport, a local town alongside the river severn. However we didn’t go to the main tourist area of the town we went to a lesser known park, that had the added advantage of free parking.
The park was quite quiet has the wind had picked up slightly but it was still warm enough for the kids to wear just shorts and t-shirts. JR surprised us all when we arrived by jumping straight on his bike and pedalling off, not only that he was able to steer his bike too, something that he has struggled with being able to do. TP hopped on to his balance bike and started chasing after him which was a lovely sight to see, but in a mommy fail moment I’d not changed the batteries in my camera so didn’t get a photo of this occasion.
We then headed to the play area of the park with swings and slides, and let the tiny 3 let off a bit of steam, daddy even joined in on the swings too! LA loved the slide and was able to climb even the tallest one herself, with ease, and TP learnt how to keep his swing going by himself although he decided it was obviously still much more fun if mommy pushed him.
We had a fantastic afternoon full of laughs, just as the summer holidays should be.
Looks like the perfect summer activity 🙂
The weather has been so unpredictable lately – sometimes you just have to commit and go! Lovely photos of the children having a wonderful time at the park and some great family time together. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
I love the appeal of the park whatever the weather.
Your photos are beautiful! We love nothing more than a day at the park – especially when the sun is shining! Following you on Bloglovin – thanks for pointing me in your blog’s direction x
