This past Sunday we had some relatively good weather here in Dudley so my Dad decided it would be the perfect time to turn over part of his garden and plant some fruit bushes.
So early sunday morning we headed to poundworld and brought a couple of blueberry bushes and a couple of raspberry bushes ready to plant later in the day. He also thought that it would be fun for the boys to help him plant them, i thought that it would be a great opportunity to get my camera out again and show the world how much fun they had.
I’m linking this with the lovely Fiona at coombe mill and country kids
I will also be linking with the lovely Annie and HDYGG
A good bit of gardening, looked like a nice day.
It was a lovely morning thank you
they look very helpful!
Erm! They tried to be but they’ll get there
Oh how lovely, sounds like you had a great time and just look at them getting stuck in. Brilliant 🙂
They had so much fun
What a great way for the three generations to get together and do something relly meaningful together
I hadn’t thought of it like that but yes your right 3 generations have fun together growing their own food
Aww how lovely, and think how much they’ll enjoy eating those berries when they grow!!
I can’t wait to eat the berries the boys can’t either
It did look like a lovely sunny day! I’m sure your Dad appreciated his two little helpers and they looked like they had a great time too. Thanks for linking up and sharing their outdoor fun with Country Kids.
They all loved it so much they would have stayed out all day but they didn’t have coats so it was a bit cold to stay out too long
Thank you for hosting
Looks like a great day! I bet grandad enjoyed having some helpers 🙂 #CountryKids
Grandad loved having 2 little helpers in the garden
Looks like lots of fun. My girls love gardening too!
I hope the boys will too over the coming weeks and months
Now that we have a garden we’re hoping to do something similar soon – looked like great fun!
They really did have fun thank you
My husband bought me fruit bushes back from his recent trip to the UK – it’s too wet to plant them though so I will have to pot them up for a while. I bet your boys will have fun picking the fruit too 🙂
They can’t wait for the fruit to grow, they really want to eat it now
Looks like you had fun outside in the garden with the kids! I would never think to look in poundland for plants. We are buying our first house this year so I am hoping to do some gardening with Georgie in the next few years 🙂
It wasn’t poundland it was there rivals poundworld but I think they’d probably have them in poundland too
What a lovely time they must have had. Here we are in the midst of making garden plans as the weather and chickens have wrecked it a bit! On a different note I spent three happy years in Dudley as a student, I think the campus is long gone now though 🙁
Where abouts in Dudley was it by the salamander pub? If so that’s gone yes.
They had a fantastic time thank you
Ah it’s lovely to get them involved in the garden – it looks like they had a great time! As Zoe said – I would never have thought to try Poundworld either! Thanks for the heads up!
Thank you for joining in and sharing ! x
They had so much fun I can’t wait to get started in our garden if only I knew where to start
Planting is such great fun for children, lovely post #countrykids
