After school outdoor play

I can honestly say that I can see the beginnings of spring just about starting to appear, but not in the form of plants and animals – no it’s the fact that when we get home from school it’s still light outside. The sun is still in the sky and hasn’t even started to even slightly set.

This pleases me greatly because we have a back porch that is literally full of wheeled toys, we have 2 scooters, 1 Spider-man tricycle, 1 balance bike and a traditional stabilisers bike all waiting for the boys to play with them. And that’s not to mention the skates and skateboards that Santa delivered Christmas Day.
Yesterday (23/1/2014) was the 1st afternoon since the nights 1st started getting earlier that we were home with enough daylight left for it to be worth me getting the boys winter proofed and out in the garden, it was worth it just for the smiles on their faces.
I enjoyed taking a million and 1 photos of those happy smiley faces, so instead of me rattling on anymore I’ll let my photos do the taking for me.

I hope we have lots more fun days like this over the coming weeks and months.

  1. Being wrapped up in their suits and with wellies on is the perfect way for them to stay dry and warm and have great fun out in the garden. As you say it has made such a difference having that extra daylight time already. Thanks for linking up and sharing their outdoor fun with Country Kids.

    • They have been having outdoor fun running home from school but it just isn’t the same as being in the garden or park is it
