Comedy

Recently with the announcement that monty python will be reforming, I have been thinking a lot about the way my comedy tastes have changed over the years. Not only that I’ve also been thinking about how comedy seems to have changed on television.

I have always for as long as I can remember loved watching the comedy geniuses that make up monty python and in terms of entertainment in my eyes anyway it is a class above the rest and good clean fun. However nowadays it all seems to be sitcoms and stand-up shows which have usually already been available to buy on DVD.

I’m really not that into sitcoms as a form of entertainment as they always seem so predictable and after all when you grew up watching friends sitcoms have a lot to live up to. One sitcom however stands out from the rest and that is Miranda.

Infact Miranda is the only sitcom i have watched and thoroughly enjoyed over the last few years, I love the fact that she involves the viewers in scenes and talks to them as if they are in the same room, and they never use much bad language, which is always a bonus as you can still watch it if the kids are around.

I have never been to see a stand-up show as I don’t really find any of the current comedians that entertaining to be honest, maybe i’m setting my sights to high, but if I were thinking about going to see anyone it would definitely be Miranda  in Miranda hart: My What I Call A Live Show and i would definitely love to experience it at the O2 in london. Now to find the money and a babysitter for a weekend away in london, and to get Santa to put some Miranda Hart Tickets in under my tree christmas morning!

What are your past or present favorite comedies and comedians or comediennes?

Disclosure: This is a collaborative post but I do really like watching Miranda
