This summer I was very privileged to be gifted a V.I.P pass to Westfield merry hill’s summer of fun events. Events which are either free or cost a £1 donation to Westfield merry hill’s charity for 2013 Help Harry Help Others (HHHO),which considering the members of mummy morning said they could spend upwards of £1000 per summer to entertain the kids is quite good value, especially when you factor in the free parking.
Thanks to the pass I was able to beat the early morning queues for tickets and just turn up at show time, which was very lucky since for most of the events people were queuing from sub 8am to get tickets.
The events The Tiny 3 decided they wanted to attend were the spongebob square pants meet and greet, Sid and Andy’s Summer party and the Dora the Explorer meet and greet.
My favourite of the three was undoubtedly Sid and Andy’s summer party, but that could be because I’m a bit of a cbeebies groupie, having previously this year met Alex Winters, Katy Ashworth & Ben Faulkes (Mr Bloom). In all seriousness it was a fun lively event which really got the audience involved in singing, dancing, and a bit of old fashioned pantomime fun. They performed the very same show at this years lollibop festival as well.
TP’s favourite event was the Dora the Explorer meet and greet as just lately he has really discovered Nick Jr. The event for me wasn’t really an event more of a photo opportunity for the kids, JR was more interested in the fact they got a money box on the way out.
JR really enjoyed meeting spongebob square pants, even if he didn’t like the fact that we queued for 25 minutes to stand with Spongebob for less than a minute!
All in all though this summer has definitely been a summer where memories have been made by our family all thanks to Westfield merry hill.
I have received no form of payment for this post, I received a v.i.p which was for me and my family to use if we so wished, I was under no obligation to write this blog, all opinions and feelings are mine. I would also like to say that for each event although we had the pass we still donated the entry fee to Help Harry Help Others.
