World Book Day Costumes From George At Asda

A few weeks ago I was offered the chance to test out some of George at asda’s range of children’s costumes in time for World Book Day.

Both JR and TP’s favourite book of choice at bedtime is a book of Marvel superhero stories, so it was no surprise to me that TP chose a Captain America costume, and JR chose a spider-man costume.

I was a bit worried about JR getting a spider-man costume because we’d brought him one for Christmas from elsewhere, it had cost a lot more but hadn’t made it to new year before fraying. However I am pleased to say that I had nothing to worry about the costume was fantastic quality and was finished beautifully.

The Captain America costume came complete with mask and shield, and is of equally good quality. It even withstood sand and water play at mom’s and toddlers and rough housing at home.

LA loves everything frozen at the moment, including her colour-in frozen story book, so the obvious choice for LA to wear for world book day at mom’s and tots was a Princess Anna dress, to go with the Queen Elsa dress she recieved for Christmas.

Again the quality was excellent, and has survived several hand washes and well as being worn constantly by an energetic toddler.

Disclosure: I received these costumes for the purposes of this post, all words and images are my own.

Update: The Spiderman costume has been urgently recalled by Asda over safety fears involving the battery

As per the recall notice, customers should return the costume, including batteries to their nearest store for a full refund. Please note on the link above that only costumes age 3 upwards are affected. The costumes under age 3 wouldn’t have included the batteries.
