A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to receive a trunki boost-a-pak to review. JR is nearly 5 and he uses a high back booster seat in the car now, when we know that he is going into a friend or grandparents car we always take his car seat out of our car and Continue reading →

Over the last few months JR, that little dude in the picture above, has been getting more and more interested in technology – be it a camera, phone, laptop, ipad, tablet or the smart whiteboard thingy at his school. One of his favourite pastimes over the summer holiday was to watch toy reviews on YouTube to Continue reading →

Having seeing the macro camera shots of a sunflower that were recently posted by Darren I felt very inspired on Sunday to have a go myself, this meant me doing something I have never done before……….take my camera off the auto setting! Well here are my efforts whilst I know they are nowhere near the standard of Darren or even theboyandme I am very proud of my efforts. I’d love you to let me know what you think.

A few months ago I wrote a review for a fantastic company called it’s your story who write personalised story books, however that’s not all they sell. They sell an amazing variation of items, well this week in time for JR to start school I was lucky enough to be sent a personalised water bottle. Continue reading →

Moving house

So the time has come to hand the keys in on my lovely (but small) 2 bedroom studio apartmentflat. This was our 1st family home, we moved in when JR was 6 months old, up until then although we were married we lived with my parents. We were the 1st people ever to live there, Continue reading →

JR has been in nursery since January 2012. He had attended term times most days since then, it was my choice to send him, I was under no obligation to take him and if we wanted a sneaky trip to Alton Towers, Legoland or somewhere equally exciting we just told them in advance he wouldn’t be in.
All that is about to change, from Thursday I will be legally required to have JR in his uniform, ready to learn and in the school playground at 8.45 every Monday – Friday during term time, with the only exception being for illness. This scares me, I feel as if I’m losing my child, and my control over what he sees, does and experiences during his formative years.
JR is a November child so will be one of if not the eldest in his class. However I still don’t feel he’s ready to be away from home without me or his daddy for 6 hours a day, 3 hours of nursery whacked him out.
However I know there is nothing I can do to stop it happening, it’s a legal requirement that he gets an education, and I for one are nowhere near clever enough, and have no where near enough patience to homeschool and with 2 other little ones at home it wouldn’t be fair on any of them. So formal school education it is!
Just beware on Thursday I may will be a blubbering emotional mess.
